The ACES Int'l Certified Damage Prevention Specialist™ Program is a valid and reliable way to certify that a field Utility Locator has the knowledge and 'Hands On' skills necessary to safely and accurately locate and mark underground utilities according to Industry Standards and Industry Best Practices Guidelines. An ACES Int'l C.D.P.S. designation can only be obtained by individuals currently employed by the Utilities and related Industries and may be attempted only by those that have already received Utility Locator training.

Certified Damage Prevention Specialist™ Program The ACES Int'l Certified Damage Prevention Specialist™ Program is a national Certification Program for Utility Locator Technicians. This Industry Certification is designed to provide the documented annual testing and training required by the ACES Int'l Certified Utility Locator Technician™ Training Standard which meets and exceeds the current minimum Training Standard requirements for Utility Locator training contained in the Common Ground Alliance (CGA) Best Practices Guidelines. The Certification Program is very affordable and completely transferable... meaning that in-house Utility Locator training programs and other qualified Utility Locator training programs can offer the ACES Int'l Certified Damage Prevention Specialist™ Program easily and quickly right along with Utility Locator training.

TRAINING PROVIDERS This Professional Industry-recognized Certification Program is a combination of a standardized Industry-wide multiple-choice written examination and "hands on" Skills Testing (Field Testing) developed to demonstrate the required abilities of a competent facilities locator or "Certified Damage Prevention Specialist™". Included in the written examination are the most current and up-to-date Industry Standards and Industry Best Practices references which every facility locator should know. It's a very affordable and highly prestigious credential which only those individuals in the profession of facilities location may attain. To earn ACES Int'l Certified Damage Prevention Specialist™ Certification, you must complete all 'Hands On' Field Testing components of the program and you must pass a 50 question multiple-choice closed book written exam with a score of 75% or higher under the supervision of an ACES Int'l Certified Damage Prevention Specialist™ Certification Administrator. One FREE re-take is available should anyone fail the written examination. Most Utility Industry training divisions are eligible to offer the ACES Int'l Certified Damage Prevention Specialist™ Program and non-secure examination materials are provided free of charge. If your company does not have a training division, ACES Int'l Certification Administrators are available to provide Certification testing and training for you. Training Officers, Safety Officers and those responsible for Utility Locator in-house training are provided with examination materials and everything necessary to offer ACES Int'l Certified Damage Prevention Specialist™ Certifications along with their current training programs.
